Faster and More Comfortable Dental Restorations
CEREC is a modern dental system that allows us to create custom restorations like crowns in a single appointment. Therefore, we don’t need traditional physical impressions or to send your case to an outside lab. Instead, we use digital scanning to capture a precise image of your tooth. Then, a custom restoration is designed and milled.
CEREC uses advanced CAD/CAM dental technology to digitally design and create restorations. But more importantly, it helps patients avoid multiple visits and temporary crowns.
Benefits of CEREC Same-Day Restorations
CEREC makes the whole treatment process quicker and more predictable for patients. What this really means for you is less disruption in your day. You don’t need to schedule multiple appointments or deal with temporary restorations. Instead, you walk in with a dental concern and leave the same day with a fully restored tooth.
Same-day dental restoration can reduce uncertainty. Everything is completed in one visit, so there’s less waiting and fewer follow-ups. Here are some key benefits of CEREC technology:
- One-appointment treatment
- No temporary crowns
- Digital precision for a better fit
- Comfortable digital impressions
- Ceramic restorations that look natural
- No long waiting periods

How CEREC Technology Works?
The CEREC process is simple for patients, even though the technology behind it is advanced. Here’s how this advanced tool works in our clinic.
Digital Tooth Scanning
Instead of traditional molds, we use a small intraoral scanner to capture a precise 3D image of your tooth. This is faster and far more comfortable.
Computer-Aided Design (CAD)
Once the scan is complete, we digitally design the restoration. The shape, fit, and bite alignment are carefully adjusted.
On-Site Ceramic Milling
After the design is finalized, a ceramic block is milled in the clinic. This creates your custom restoration while you wait.
Same-Day Placement
Finally, the restoration is checked, adjusted if needed, and permanently bonded to your tooth, all in the same appointment.
What to Expect During Your CEREC Appointment?
Here’s how our CEREC specialist, Dr. Alireza Golabchifar, uses this technology during your treatment.
Examination & Digital Scan
We examine your tooth and check the area to understand what kind of restoration you need. Once everything is assessed, we take a quick digital scan of your tooth. It gives us a clear and accurate 3D image to work with.
Restoration Design
After the scan, your restoration is designed using CEREC software. We shape it so it matches your bite and the surrounding teeth. At this stage, we make small adjustments digitally to ensure it fits properly.
On-Site Milling
Once the design is finalized, it is sent to our in-office milling unit. Here, your restoration is carved from a durable ceramic block. While this is happening, you can relax in the clinic. There’s no need to wait days for a lab or come back for another appointment.
Final Placement & Adjustments
When your restoration is ready, we check the fit, color, and bite carefully. We make minor adjustments to ensure everything feels natural. Finally, the restoration is bonded securely to your tooth.
Is CEREC Treatment Right for You?
CEREC is a great option for many patients, especially if you need quicker and more comfortable treatments. Generally, it may be right for you if you:
- Have a busy schedule and prefer fewer appointments.
- Have a cracked or damaged tooth.
- Need a replacement for an old restoration.
- Want a faster solution without temporary crowns.
What Treatments Can Be Completed with CEREC?
We use CEREC technology for several types of restorative treatments, which are explained below:
Same-Day Dental Crowns
Dental crowns are one of the most common uses of CEREC. They are ideal for teeth that are cracked or weakened. With CEREC, your crown is designed and placed in the same visit.
Inlays and Onlays
When a dental filling is not enough to repair your tooth damage, and it doesn’t need a crown either, we may recommend CEREC inlays and onlays. We design the restoration using CAD/CAM dentistry to match your tooth.
Tooth Restoration for Damaged Teeth
CEREC is also used for restoring teeth that are chipped or structurally damaged. This is ideal because it rebuilds the tooth on the same day you visit our clinic.
Replacing Old Restorations
Old crowns or fillings may wear or fail. We can replace them in one visit, using CEREC technology. This is especially helpful if you want to upgrade to a more natural ceramic restoration.
